Bull Rider Tragically Loses His Life During Rodeo

Sadly, wearing any form of protective gear couldn’t prevent tragedy at an Ohio rodeo this past weekend. Bull rider Jason Blake Saylor lost his life after being thrown from the bull and “kicked or stepped on by the bull,” according to Fox 19 News. The incident resulted in fatal chest injuries.
The event, held at Fox Hollow Rodeo, located in Waynesville, Ohio, shared a statement on Facebook after the tragic accident. “Our hearts are absolutely broken following the tragic loss of one of our bull riders and brothers in Christ, last night at Fox Hollow Rodeo.”
“There are no words to express the sadness we are feeling. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking tragedy. We ask that everyone please respect the privacy of his family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time,” it read.
In the comment section of the post, several people expressed knowing Taylor, who went by “Blake,” and calling him “a good man.”
“Blake Saylor wasn’t just a bull rider he was what a bull rider is supposed to be. Tough as rawhide, brave to the bone, with a grin that said he was born in the chute. He heard 8 seconds calling and answered it every time God gave him the chance,” a comment read.
Taylor Suffered a Broken Collarbone After a Bull Riding Incident Just Months Before His Passing
Taylor appeared to be a passionate bull rider. Just months before his death, he took to Facebook to share a video of himself suffering a broken collarbone following a bull-riding event. In the footage, Taylor can be seen riding the bull before being thrown from the animal and landing awkwardly on his side
After thanking close friends and his girlfriend, Lindsey Marie, for taking care of him following the accident, he also wrote, “But most of all id like to thank my lord and savior for allowing us to all walk out of the arena on our own 2 feet and for each and every blessing and each and every day.”
Marie also shared a Facebook post honoring Taylor after his tragic death. “Knowing you’ve always said that when it’s your time to go you hope it’s doing what you love the most, riding bulls! I just wish I could hold you one last time and tell you how much I love you,” she wrote.
Police are investigating the incident as an accidental death.
