Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee have released a new report described as “the case against Donald Trump emerging in the Epstein Files and DOJ’s desperate efforts to cover it up,” according to reporting from MS NOW.
Those Democrats are also calling for the appointment of an independent special counsel to investigate the president, in addition to “what they describe as Attorney General Todd Blanche’s conflicts of interest and the Justice Department’s reluctance to share relevant evidence with state and foreign law enforcement,” per MS NOW.
Multiple Allegations
“The women who survived Epstein deserve to be heard,” said Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md. — the top Democrat on the committee — in a statement. “Congress must have the complete files required by law, and an independent special counsel must investigate Epstein’s co-conspirators and DOJ’s cover-up and ensure that state and foreign prosecutors have the evidence they need to pursue justice.”
The 50-page report alleges President Trump was “an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of young women in the mid-to-late 1990s,” and includes one new allegation in addition to several longstanding accusations, all of which are unsubstantiated.
A Democratic source in the Judiciary Committee source told MS NOW that “the report draws on publicly available accounts as well as conversations with survivors.”
In addition, the report suggests that officials in the Department of Justice, including Attorney General Todd Blanche, had been “doing everything they can to keep the American people in the dark” about the president’s alleged participation in Epstein’s criminal activity. “Attorney General Blanche may have engaged in criminal obstruction of justice while acting on a mission to protect Trump,” the report alleges.
The report also claims that Blanche’s meeting with Epstein’s co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell “potentially constituted witness tampering and obstruction of an official proceeding.”
Response from the DOJ

Responding to the report’s release, a spokesperson for the Justice Department dismissed the report as “nothing more than a last-ditch effort by House Judiciary Democrats to mislead the public.”
The spokesperson claimed that the DOJ complied with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, releasing nearly 3 million documents to the public. “The Department also freely offered members of Congress the opportunity to view the files unredacted. All these files were part of FBI investigations that spanned decades and these claims were investigated by agents at the time,” the spokesperson stated.
“While we cannot talk about the existence of any ongoing investigations, the Trump Administration is the only administration to prosecute Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell and make any of these documents available to the public,” the spokesperson added.
White House spokesperon Lauren Bis also issued a response, telling MS NOW that “none of these allegations are true.”
Bis added: “This ‘report’ is nothing more than a desperate attempt by crazed Democrats to distract Americans from the surging Republican momentum driven by President Trump’s historic achievements. The president kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his club at Mar-a-Lago because he was a creep, and he has been fully exonerated of anything related to Epstein.”
