While you might expect UFO-related stories around Halloween to be freaky fictional tales, a newly released government document has revealed that an unidenitified flying object was reportedly seen by federal agents in the United States earlier this year.

The New UFO Info Comes From a Document Released by the Pentagon

If you live in the western U.S. or have visited the area since the beginning of 2026, then there’s a chance that you were in the same location that a UFO was supposedly spotted.

“Earlier this year, federal agents somewhere in the western U.S. observed a mysterious triangular aircraft hovering over an unnamed site that’s sensitive to national security, according to new documents released by the Pentagon,” Gizmodo reported on Monday, Oct. 26. “The matte black craft was completely silent and zipped around as fast as a fighter jet, according to a witness, who described it as ‘resembling a delta wing drone.'”

In the document directly from the Department of Defense (DOD), which was released last Friday, the object was described as having a wingspan in the range of 13 and 15 feet, while the fuse length appeared to be around 6 to 9 feet. Despite that size, it was only estimated to be 1 or 2 feet thick.

“The unidentified craft maintained a completely fixed horizontal alignment [which] did not tilt, sway, or wobble during the controlled vertical ascent of approximately ten seconds,” according to the DOD document. “It climbed to an altitude of an estimated 200 to 300 feet above the local ridge line. Upon reaching this altitude, the craft instantaneously arrested all vertical motion and entered a stable hover for an estimated twenty seconds.”

That was followed by the UFO “transition[ing] from a zero-velocity state directly into high-speed horizontal flight” and performing “a fluid banking maneuver and terrain-hugging descent into a canyon drainage in approximately two to three seconds,” according to the report. At that point, the documents says that the object’s “silhouette appeared to flatten and present as a more triangle.”

The DOD document also mentioned that “two primary witnesses reported no physiological effects,” and “[t]here were no reports of (but not limited to) disorientation, nausea, headache, dermal sensation, visual disturbance, memory gap, or other anomalous sensory phenomena.” On top of that, “[n]o anomalous odors were noted,” and “[n]o electromagnetic interference, signal degradation, or anomalous sensor readings were recorded on personal or agency equipment.”

An FBI Report Resulted in 9 UFO Images

When Gimozdo reported on the document from the Department of Defense, it was also noted that an FBI report on what had allegedly been seen featured nine images, including “landscape photos and a black triangle that moves when they’re viewed together as though part of a flipbook.” Although what we are shown is undeniably intriguing, “[t]he report doesn’t indicate whether the images are authentic photos or artistic renditions.”

However, Gizmodo did check what appear to be photos using SynthID.com, and it was unable to identify any markings that would indicate that the images were “made with AI image tools from OpenAI and Google.” Granted, that doesn’t guarantee that the shots are genuine photos of what was allegedly seen in the incident describe in the newly released documents, but it does give us an idea of what could have been in the sky that day.
