Amid buzz that a NASA rescue mission failed as a telescope came crashing back to Earth and an unidentified flying object was reportedly spotted by federal agents earlier this year, news has just come out that the International Space Station may have nearly been hit by a UFO during a strange encounter last month.

“A mysterious object has been spotted flying by the International Space Station, sparking claims that astronauts just had a near-miss with a UFO,” the Daily Mail reported on Thursday, Nov. 5. “The unidentified object was seen on October 15 as a SpaceX Dragon cargo spacecraft was approaching the station with new supplies. NASA’s live stream of the docking captured the bright disc or small sphere moving steadily by the ISS moments after the broadcast began.”

The Daily Mail also noted that “the mysterious object which nearly collided with the ISS” was captured by a camera on board the Dragon cargo craft.

However, when it comes to NASA’s report of what happened, nothing unusual was noted, and the details simply focused on what was delivered to the space station during the docking.

At the same time, “[c]ameras following the cargo ship spotted a faint image passing the SpaceX vehicle on two separate occasions as it traveled over the Earth,” the Daily Mail mentions, while also pointing out that the objects seen during both incidents were cone-shaped and were seen making strange movements in the vicinity.

The object spotted in the video from NASA and that seemingly came close to the International Space Station has been described as being large and having the ability to move in a way that humans will likely find unusual.

“Guys, a UFO came within 25 meters of the space station. It was 7 meters across. It is huge,” said Scott C Waring of UFO Sightings Daily. “The space station itself is 109 meters across. That’s how I got this calculation. … But look at that. That was a near miss.”

While going over what was seen in the area of the ISS, Waring continued, “Okay, they went to another camera cuz they noticed it. … And the UFO gets closer and bouncing around. Closer and further away. … Do you see how they’re moving very oddly? Moving like no aircraft we’ve ever seen or spacecraft. It doesn’t conform to physics the way humans expect things to. The way it moves is bizarre.”

Although Waring acknowledges that what’s seen in the video may not be a UFO, he speculates that if it is a craft navigated by an alien visitor, they are perhaps curious about what humans are doing, saying, “It’s watching us. It’s scanning us and it wants to see what we’re up to. What are those naughty humans up to now? What are they doing? It’s like a parent watching his child, you know, learning something for the first time.”
