With a post-midterms staff shakeup roiling the White House after Stephen Miller replaced Susie Wiles as chief of staff, President Donald Trump is looking to fill another key vacancy in his administration.
With White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia having been fired from the position after just five days on the job, Trump now has someone else in mind for the role.
‘A Press Secretary Like None Other’
On Saturday, November 7, Trump took to Truth Social to formally offer the job to Dana White, CEO of the UFC.
“I am pleased to announce that the Great Dana White, a violent Fighter and Warrior, has been offered the job of Press Secretary of the United States,” Trump wrote in his post.
“I have requested that he bring with him assistants, even though some are not from our Country, of Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harris. We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left. Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other,” he continued, listing the names of several MMA fighters.
Trump concluded with a plea: “Dana, please take the job!”
At time of writing, White had yet to respond to Trump’s offer.
Is He Serious?
It remains to be seen whether Trump’s offer is serious, or if White is even considering taking the position.
Previously, a White House official floated the possiblity — perhaps humorously — that Nikki Minaj was in the running for the job.
When asked about the notion of bringing aboard the “Anaconda” rapper as new White House press secretary, the president told reporters, “That’s a good idea. I think I’ll have to think about that… I’m going to think about that. How about you? You’d be pretty good, too,” he said.
A New Record

The White House has been without a press secretary since the abrupt exit of Katie Zacharia on October 16 — just five days after she started the job.
Her brief tenure set a new record for the shortest period anyone had ever held in a White House communications position, breaking the previous record set in 2017 by Anthony Scaramucci, who resigned amid controversy after just 11 days as White House Communications Director.
Zacharia’s departure came after a single press conference, with Reuters reporting at the time that two separate White House officials confirmed Zacharia had been “let go” and would be “transitioning out” of the job.
