Savannah Chrisley is responding to the criticism surrounding her engagement, pregnancy, and previously undisclosed marriage, turning to her faith as headlines continue to swirl around her personal life.
The “Chrisley Knows Best” alum, 29, addressed the reaction in a message shared to her Instagram Story on Saturday, Oct. 31, describing the past week as a “whirlwind” and reflecting on what she sees as the cruelty of public judgment.
“This world can be so incredibly cruel,” Chrisley wrote, adding that people can be quick to criticize others while being slow to offer grace.
Her statement comes days after she surprised followers with a major personal announcement that quickly drew attention for reasons beyond the pregnancy and engagement.
Savannah Chrisley Responds to Critics
Chrisley initially revealed that she was expecting a baby and engaged in an Instagram video posted Tuesday. Subsequent reports identified her fiancé as Jason Galanis, 56, a convicted fraudster.
Further reports revealed that the couple had already married privately on July 14 at a Baptist church in the Cayman Islands, months before publicly announcing their engagement and pregnancy.
In her Saturday message, Chrisley did not directly address the criticism surrounding Galanis or the couple’s relationship. Instead, she focused on maintaining her peace and relying on her Christian faith amid the attention.
“The world may try to steal your peace, but it can never take away what God has promised you,” she wrote.
Chrisley continued by explaining that she did not believe she needed to respond to every accusation or defend herself against every criticism.
“I’ve learned that you don’t have to defend what God has already ordained,” she said. “You don’t have to fight every battle, answer every accusation, or convince the world of what God already knows to be true.”
She also emphasized the importance of responding to negativity with compassion and trusting her faith through difficult moments.
“My heart is full. My blessings are immeasurable. And my faith is stronger than any storm this world could ever bring,” Chrisley wrote.
She concluded the post by declaring that hate would not prevail over her beliefs.
“Because at the end of the day, hate will never have the final word. JESUS WILL. And LOVE ALWAYS WINS,” she wrote, quoting John 1:5: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
Chrisley also thanked Jesus for what she described as a peace that the world could neither provide nor take away.
Who Is Jason Galanis?
Galanis has a criminal history that has drawn additional scrutiny following the couple’s announcement.
In September 2020, he was sentenced to more than 14 years in prison for his involvement in two schemes, including one that defrauded a Native American tribe and investors of tens of millions of dollars, according to Page Six.
His sentence was later commuted by President Donald Trump in March 2025, bringing renewed attention to his case.
The revelations about Galanis, combined with the previously undisclosed wedding and pregnancy announcement, have placed Chrisley’s personal life under increased public scrutiny.
Although her Instagram message did not address the details of the couple’s relationship, Chrisley made clear that she intends to draw strength from her faith as she navigates the public reaction.
