Music producer Jack Antonoff and actress Margaret Qualley officially filed for divorce a little over three years after getting married.

People exclusively reported on Friday, October 30 that a source “close to the pair” confirmed the news. “Jack and Margaret are filing for divorce jointly,” the report quotes a source as saying, before adding, “This is a mutual decision.”
The pair began dating in August 21, meeting at an NYC party in a moment romantically described in the Lana Del Rey song “Margaret,” a tribute to the couple. The 11-time Grammy nominee croons on the track, “He met Margaret on a rooftop, she was wearing white/And he was like, ‘I might be in trouble.'”
Jack later said laying eyes on the “Love of Your Life” star was the first time the thought of marriage ever crossed his mind.
The song, which Lana reveals in the lyrics she’s writing “for a friend,” paints a picture of relationship bliss, but 4 months after its release, something had clearly gone wrong for the couple.
On July 8, People confirmed in an exclusive that they were over, quoting a source as calling things between them “rocky.”
Another insider said at the time they were “figuring things out,” per the story.
“They share a deep affinity and love for one another, and though their romantic partnership is ending, they will absolutely be lifelong friends,” the October 30 People report says the outlet was told.
Fans Flocked to Margaret & Jack’s New Jersey Wedding Hoping to Catch a Glimpse of Taylor Swift
Jack is best known for headlining his indie pop band “Bleachers” and writing and producing music for superstars like Lana Del Rey and Taylor Swift.
Through no apparent fault of hers or Jack’s, Taylor association to him frequently overshadowed his relationship with Margaret in a few ways. Most noticeably, several wedding events for Jack and Margaret, including the rehearsal dinner at Black Whale Bar & Fish House in New Jersey, were swarmed by hundred’s of the “Blank Space” singer’s fans hoping to catch a glimpse, as well as paparazzi.
People notes in a SiriusXm interview Jack angrily called the onlookers “vultures.” Margaret did not comment on the commotion.
Additionally, ever since being tied to Jack, Margaret has been exhaustively questioned about Taylor and her projects, despite the 32-year-old’s own thriving film and television career.
Margaret had a major Netflix hit with “Maid” in 2021, before going on to star across from Demi Moore in the highly acclaimed, popular, and Oscar-nominated “The Substance” in 2024.
Margaret Qualley Was Awkwardly Asked About Taylor Swift by ET Last Year
In a 2025 ET appearance to promote the dark Ethan Coen comedy “Honey Don’t!” a host seemed to take her off guard by making one of the opening questions about whether she could share any tidbits regarding Taylor’s album “The Life of a Showgirl,” which was about to be released.
“I don’t know anything,” Margaret responded, looking exasperated but staying polite. “But we’ll all be excited to listen to the music,” she shrugged.
