Peter Doocy and Hillary Vaughn are celebrating the arrival of their third child, a daughter named Molly Kate.
The Fox News White House correspondent, 39, and his wife, 37, welcomed their baby girl on Oct. 22, PEOPLE reported. Molly Kate joins the couple’s two older children, Bridget, 3, and George, 18 months.
Her arrival made for an eventful day for Doocy, who was preparing for a live television appearance when he learned his wife was going into labor.
Peter Doocy Scrambled to Leave Work
Doocy received a call from Vaughn just one minute before he was scheduled to appear live at 9 a.m. She told him their baby was on the way, prompting the journalist to hurry away from his work commitments.
“I don’t think I’ve ever talked through a script so fast,” Doocy told the outlet.
After finishing his segment, he returned the broadcast to New York, grabbed his bag and rushed toward the White House gate.
“I threw back to New York, quickly grabbed my bag and started sprinting toward the White House gate, which I’m sure raised some eyebrows in the Secret Service guard shack,” he recalled.
Although Doocy learned that the baby was on the way that morning, Molly Kate was born later that evening, at 10:04 p.m.
Vaughn shared the couple’s excitement about welcoming their daughter.
“Our hearts are bursting with joy,” the former Fox Business correspondent told the outlet, adding that their newborn is “adored from head to toe.”
They Are Now a Family of Five
Molly Kate’s birth brings the couple’s family to five, with their two older children now welcoming a younger sister.
Doocy also noted the timing of his daughter’s arrival, which came a few days after her due date.
“She arrived a few days after the due date — but just in time for midterm election results,” he humorously told the outlet.
He expressed gratitude for the newest addition to the family and excitement about their next chapter together.
“We are so grateful she is here, and we are so excited to be Doocy, Party of Five!” he said.
Inside Doocy and Vaughn’s Relationship
Doocy and Vaughn met while working at Fox News, where both pursued careers in journalism.
Doocy joined the network in 2009 as a general assignment reporter and eventually became its senior White House correspondent. Vaughn began working at Fox Business in 2016.
The couple married in April 2021 at the Montage Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton, South Carolina.
They welcomed their first child, Bridget, in February 2023. Their second child, George, was born in April 2025.
With Molly Kate’s arrival, the couple have reached another family milestone while continuing their careers in political and business journalism.
