My Chemical Romance may want to think twice before featuring another cheerleading squad in a future performance. According to the New York Post, the rock band is now facing legal action after dancers dressed as Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders appeared during an onstage stunt at the band’s October 21 concert at the Hollywood Bowl, leaving some fans believing the iconic cheerleaders were actually involved.
Pro Silver Star Ltd., the owner of the iconic cheerleading squad, filed for a temporary restraining order and temporary injunction against My Chemical Romance following their concert. In fact, current and former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are also breaking their silence, with some finding the performance “bizarre.”
Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Speak Out After Controversial My Chemical Romance Performance

A few former and current Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are speaking out following My Chemical Romance’s onstage stunt that saw lookalikes wearing their iconic uniforms and acting out a shootout with fake guns.
Stephanie Roberts, who danced with the cheerleaders from 2014-2018, wasn’t pleased with what she saw, sharing a video of herself, too stunned to speak. Using a video of the performance, she wrote, ” As a DCC alumni, I have a whole lot of nothing to say…”
In her caption, she also let her followers know that the women were not actual DCC. “Let’s clarify one thing, the actualy @DallasCowboys Cheerleaders were NOT present at this concert.”
Many commenters appeared to share her sentiments, with one asking, “What the hell did I just watch” and another person writing, “Literally WTF??”
Beloved Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Kylie Dickson Calls My Chemical Romance Performance ‘Bizarre’

A Reddit thread sharing what appears to be a now-deleted TikTok post from popular and current DCC Kylie Dickson, sees the dancer sharing her own thoughts. In her video, Dickson revealed that she was equally confused by the band’s decision to use lookalikes. Dickson made it clear that she wasn’t a fan of the stunt.
“There were fake Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders who came out on stage at a concert last night, and I am so beyond confused,” she began.
“Their not us, none of it is real, none of the outfits are real, nothing about it is actually cheerleaders,” she continued. Dickson went on to call the stunt “extremely bizarre,” noting that she was “sure it was some sort of political stance.”
She added, “I’m a little blown away by the whole performance… it’s just very weird, overall … I don’t even know the legality of that.” She also shared that people began asking her if she was on stage that night, and she had to clarify that she was not.
According to the New York Post, the legal action taken against My Chemical Romance states that the band fooled concertgoers into believing that it was the real cheerleaders. It also stated, “Silver Star does not ask Defendants to change their setlist, narrative, politics, choreography, or even their decision to put gun-toting performers on stage. Silver Star asks only that those performers not wear the DCC Uniform while doing it.”
My Chemical Romance has a few more shows scheduled, so it remains to be seen whether the band will remove the cheerleader lookalikes from its upcoming performances amid the controversy.
