Charli D’Amelio is setting the record straight about rumors that her parents mishandled her money.
The social media star addressed speculation about an alleged financial dispute with her family in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, denying that her parents stole from her while acknowledging that the family had been through difficulties.
Charli Speaks Out on the Rumors Surrounding Her Family
Asked whether reports about her parents mishandling her money were true, Charli replied, “No, they’re not true. I wouldn’t say that they stole my money.” After pausing, she added, “I think we did a lot of things as a family.”
Her comments mark the first time she has directly addressed the allegations in an interview since rumors gained traction in late May.
Speculation intensified after a DeuxMoi post claimed Charli had discovered millions of dollars being transferred out of her accounts while her parents managed her online career. The claims have not been established as fact, and Charli’s response does not confirm that money was stolen.
The rumors also fueled speculation about tension between Charli and her parents, Marc and Heidi D’Amelio. Before the DeuxMoi post circulated, fans had noticed that Charli and her parents no longer followed one another on Instagram.
Her Family Previously Denied the Claims
Marc publicly pushed back against the allegations in the comments section of the post, insisting the reports were false and suggesting someone was influencing his daughter.
“This is not true. We love Charli but she is being manipulated and I have the receipts. Over the last six years we have remained silent and never addressed gossip but the time has come to set the record straight.”
At the time, PEOPLE reached out to Charli for comment on the alleged dispute and her father’s response.
In her interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Charli also touched on her relationship with her family, including her older sister, Dixie D’Amelio, who is also a social media personality.
Despite the speculation surrounding the family, Charli made clear that her bond with Dixie remains important to her.
“I mean, that’s my sister. I’m going to love her till the day I die. But there are times where you’re figuring stuff out,” she said.
The family’s professional relationships have also changed. On June 4, it was confirmed that Charli had cut ties with Be Happy Snacks, the family’s popcorn brand. Marc, 57, and Heidi, 54, remain involved with the business.
Charli’s latest comments offer some clarity on the financial rumors, but she did not detail what she meant when she said the family had done “a lot of things.” Her remarks leave the specifics of their private disagreements unexplained while directly rejecting the claim that her parents stole her money.
