With the cost of everyday essentials seemingly reaching record highs, Walmart is looking to make the holiday season a little easier on shoppers’ wallets by bringing back its popular Holiday Meal Basket.
According to Our Quad Cities News, the meal basket is designed to feed 10 people for just $35, which works out to only $3.50 per person. This year’s offering also includes more food than last year’s basket, giving shoppers an affordable way to prepare holiday meals without spending hundreds of dollars on ingredients.
The Holiday Meal Basket launched on October 28 and will be available through December 24, just in time for the Christmas festivities.

Walmart has brought back its Holiday Meal Basket just in time for the festive season, promising shoppers that its 2026 offerings can feed up to 10 people for only $35.
According to the Walmart website, the basket includes everything a shopper can need for the perfect Thanksgiving or holiday meal, including ingredients to make a tasty dessert. The basket also includes a Butterball turkey, its most expensive item, priced at 97 cents per pound, with an average cost of $13.14.

In fact, the Walmart site also offers shoppers unique ways they can use the ingredients from the Holiday Meal Basket, including serving up sides like green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, and a pumpkin pie with whipped toppings.
Walmart shared that their Holiday Meal Baskets contain 18% more items than last years, with a total of 26 items. The new items include JIFFY corn muffin mix, whipped topping for pumpkin pie, and ingredients for a sweet potato casserole.
“The Holiday Meal Basket has become one of our favorite traditions at Walmart. It brings our purpose to life in such a meaningful way by helping families make the holidays special without stretching their budgets,” David Guggina, President and CEO of Walmart shared.
