“Pioneer Woman” star Ree Drummond’s foster son, Jamar Goff, has been sentenced following his September arrest in Alabama on assault and drug charges.
Goff, 23, received a 48-month suspended sentence for second-degree assault and a separate 24-month suspended sentence for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, according to Alabama court documents obtained by Page Six on November 4.
The former college football player will not serve prison time under the current sentencing terms. Instead, he must complete 12 months of supervised probation and follow several court-ordered conditions.
Goff was arrested in Birmingham on September 15 after an encounter with a police officer near the University of Alabama at Birmingham campus.

According to the outlet, the judge ordered Goff’s release from custody on Tuesday, November 3.
As part of his probation, Goff must undergo a substance-abuse evaluation and submit to random drug testing.
The judge also prohibited him from entering the University of Alabama at Birmingham campus, where the incident leading to his arrest occurred.
Court documents reportedly indicate that officials had “no problem” with Goff serving his probation in Oklahoma, where Drummond and her husband, Ladd Drummond, live.
Goff previously played football at the University of Central Oklahoma and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College.
Police Report Details Incident Leading to Jamar Goff’s September Arrest
Goff was booked into the Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham at approximately 2:30 a.m. on September 15, according to jail records reviewed by The Daily Mail.
He initially faced charges that included unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, attempting to elude a police officer and aggravated assault on a police officer.
His bond was set at $37,000.
According to legal documents TMZ obtained, police responded to the University of Alabama at Birmingham campus after receiving a report about a suspicious person.
A responding officer reportedly found Goff shirtless and sleeping near a fountain.
When the officer questioned him, Goff allegedly said he was waiting for someone to sell him “ice,” a slang term for methamphetamine.
The officer initially instructed Goff to leave the area. However, after discovering an outstanding arrest warrant, the officer located him again and attempted to place him in handcuffs.
Goff reportedly ran from the officer before stopping near a medical facility.
According to the police report, Goff struck the officer with “an open-handed palm strike” during the confrontation.
Authorities also reported finding a glass pipe in his backpack and approximately 1.8 grams of methamphetamine during a search.
Legal documents described Goff as homeless at the time of his arrest.
Ree Drummond Previously Opened Up About Welcoming Jamar Into Her Family
Drummond, 57, and her husband became Goff’s foster parents in 2018.
The Food Network personality first publicly discussed Goff in a November 2020 post on her website, The Pioneer Woman.
She explained that she had intentionally waited before sharing details about his place in the family.
“I’ve never wanted to subject Jamar to more attention than he wanted or needed before he had a chance to settle in and get his bearings in our home,” Drummond wrote. “We needed to let things breathe.”
She also described Goff as “an inextricable part of our wacky family.”
Drummond and her husband have four other children together.
In October 2023, Drummond shared another message about Goff on Instagram to celebrate his 21st birthday.
“With Jamar, there’s a whole universe going on in that mind and heart and soul of his,” she wrote. “It’s a beautiful thing to behold.”
She also reflected on what the future might hold for him.
“What will Jamar be doing in five years, I often imagine, as I do with all my kids. Where will he be in ten years, in twenty? I can’t wait to watch his future unfold. I know it will be filled with good things. I love you, Jamar!!”
