Hila Klein is seeking to end her marriage to Ethan Klein after more than a decade together and recent allegations of infidelity, according to TMZ.
The 38-year-old internet personality filed for dissolution of marriage on Monday, according to court documents. She and Ethan, 41, have been married since 2012 and share three children: Theodore, 7, Bruce, 4, and Sunny, 2.
In the filing, Hila is requesting joint custody of the children as well as spousal support. The documents list Oct. 13 as the couple’s date of separation and cite irreconcilable differences as the grounds for divorce.
The legal move comes shortly after Hila publicly accused her husband of having an affair that lasted more than six months.
Hila Details Alleged Infidelity
On Oct. 23, Hila shared an Instagram post in which she described the breakdown of her marriage and claimed Ethan had admitted to being involved with someone else.
She said she had noticed changes in his behavior and tried to address her concerns, but felt her questions were dismissed.
“I could sense something was wrong,” she wrote, explaining that attempts to discuss the situation were “met with dismissive answers and no action.”
“Things that bothered me continued to bother me, and he did nothing about it,” she continued. “Eventually, he was caught in a lie, and I knew I was done. But the lies continued. ‘It was just a kiss’ became ‘it was emotional cheating.’ ”
Hila alleged that Ethan eventually acknowledged an affair lasting more than six months. She added that she did not know the full extent of what had happened.
“I am in survival mode, trying to navigate separation, co-parenting, and unthinkable heartbreak,” she wrote. “All I can do right now is focus on taking care of myself and my children, one day at a time.”
Ethan Responds to Public Attention
Ethan addressed the situation in an Instagram Story shortly after Hila’s allegations became public. He asked people not to involve their relatives or seek comments from them.
“I know a lot of people are understandably looking for a comment from me, but I ask that you please respect my family’s privacy and do not contact them looking for me or asking for their comments,” the H3 Podcast co-creator wrote on Oct. 23.
“They have nothing to do with this and share in your outrage and disappointment. Thank you,” he added.
Earlier that day, Ethan had announced that the H3 Podcast was going on an “indefinite hiatus.” He also said he was working with Hila to “urgently remove” his ownership and financial interests in their production company.
Family Members Address the Situation
The couple’s relationship has also drawn attention from members of Hila’s family.
Her brother, Moses Hacmon, and his wife, internet personality Trisha Paytas, discussed the situation on an episode of Paytas’ podcast, “Just Trish.” Hacmon said he and his sister had not been in contact for five years following a dispute involving Frenemies, the podcast Paytas previously hosted with Ethan.
“And at first, he did everything he could to destroy my family, and he was successful at that, unfortunately,” Hacmon claimed. “And after that, he did everything he could to destroy his own family, and he was successful at that too.”
Hila and Ethan first met in 2007 and later built an online following together through their YouTube channel, h3h3Productions, which they co-founded in 2011.
