The Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $835 million for Wednesday, November 4, giving lottery players a chance to win one of the game’s largest prizes.

The jackpot is the second-largest Powerball prize offered in 2026, behind the $1.04 billion jackpot won in Illinois on August 12, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association, which operates Powerball.

If someone wins Wednesday’s grand prize, the $835 million jackpot would rank as the 10th-largest in Powerball history.

A winner in the United States could choose between receiving the full estimated jackpot through annual payments or taking a one-time cash payment of approximately $357.9 million before taxes.

The drawing is scheduled for 10:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday.

Powerball’s $835 Million Jackpot Could Join the Game’s Largest Prizes

Powerball has awarded several jackpots exceeding $1 billion, including the largest lottery jackpot ever won in the United States.

The record belongs to a California ticket holder who won $2.04 billion on November 7, 2022.

According to Powerball’s official website, the 10 largest jackpots in the game’s history are:

  1. $2.04 billion — November 7, 2022 — California
  2. $1.817 billion — December 24, 2025 — Arkansas
  3. $1.787 billion — September 6, 2025 — Missouri and Texas
  4. $1.765 billion — October 11, 2023 — California
  5. $1.586 billion — January 13, 2016 — California, Florida and Tennessee
  6. $1.326 billion — April 6, 2024 — Oregon
  7. $1.08 billion — July 19, 2023 — California
  8. $1.04 billion — August 12, 2026 — Illinois
  9. $842.4 million — January 1, 2024 — Michigan
  10. $768.4 million — March 27, 2019 — Wisconsin

The current jackpot would enter that list if a player matches all six numbers in Wednesday’s drawing.

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are approximately 1 in 292.2 million, according to the game’s official website.

Powerball’s Expansion to the United Kingdom Brings New Players Into the $835 Million Drawing

Wednesday’s drawing also marks a milestone for Powerball following its expansion into the United Kingdom.

Powerball ticket sales began in the UK in July 2026, allowing British players to participate in the American lottery.

The current jackpot is the first to grow through an entire series of drawings with players participating from both the United States and the United Kingdom.

In a July news release, the Multi-State Lottery Association explained how the international expansion could affect future jackpots.

“By expanding the player base internationally, Powerball jackpots are expected to grow faster, creating bigger prize opportunities for players – without altering the game’s $2 ticket price or jackpot odds,” the organization said.

One important difference applies to international winners.

While American jackpot winners can choose between annual payments and a lump-sum cash option, winners in the United Kingdom must receive their prize through payments spread over 30 years.

Mega Millions Jackpot Also Climbs Above $500 Million Following Tuesday Drawing

Powerball isn’t the only major lottery offering a substantial prize this week.

The Mega Millions jackpot has increased to an estimated $505 million after no ticket matched all six numbers in Tuesday’s drawing.

The winning numbers for November 3 were 4, 24, 31, 62 and 70, with a Mega Ball of 3.

Tuesday’s jackpot was worth an estimated $482 million.

The next Mega Millions drawing is scheduled for Friday, November 6, at 11 p.m. ET.

A winner could choose a cash option worth approximately $213.3 million before taxes.

According to the official Mega Millions website, the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350.
