McDonald’s is bringing Pokémon back to its Happy Meal lineup, giving fans a new collection of toys and trading cards to hunt for this November.
The limited-time promotion launches nationwide on Nov. 10, according to The Pokémon Company. The collaboration arrives as the Japanese franchise celebrates its 30th anniversary, adding another reason for fans to get excited about the latest collectibles.
Each Pokémon Happy Meal will include two Pokémon Trading Card Game cards and one miniature toy designed to resemble a Happy Meal box featuring a Pokémon character.
15 Pokémon Toys and Trading Cards to Collect
The new collection features 15 miniature Happy Meal box-shaped toys. The designs include Pokémon characters such as Pikachu, Rowlet and Sprigatito, with additional characters featured in the lineup.
The Happy Meals will come in one of three themed boxes featuring Pikachu, Umbreon or Torchic.
Along with the miniature toys, each meal will contain two Pokémon Trading Card Game cards. The collection includes 15 different cards, seven of which are foil cards.
That gives collectors another reason to visit participating restaurants as they try to find their favorite characters and complete the set.
However, the contents will differ in Quebec, Canada. The miniature Happy Meal box-shaped toys will not be available in the province. Instead, customers there will receive a Pokémon sticker and a booster pack containing four Pokémon Trading Card Game cards.
The promotion will be available for a limited time while supplies last at participating McDonald’s locations.
McDonald’s Announces Pokémon Happy Meal on Instagram
McDonald’s announced the upcoming promotion on Instagram on Oct. 29, sharing details about the toys and trading cards ahead of the November launch.
“3 boxes. 15 toys. 2 cards with every collectible. Pokémon Happy Meal coming 11.10.26,” the company wrote.
The announcement quickly attracted enthusiastic responses from fans eager to get their hands on the new collectibles.
“I’m loving it,” one Instagram user commented, adding emojis of McDonald’s fries and a burger.
Another fan expressed excitement about the promotion, writing, “AWWWWWW YEEUH. About to eat an absurd amount of happy meals.”
Other commenters raised concerns about resellers, with some worrying that scalpers would buy up the collectibles to resell them at higher prices.
The reactions reflect the enthusiasm surrounding the latest collaboration, particularly among fans hoping to collect all 15 toys and the available trading cards.
When Do Pokémon Happy Meals Arrive at McDonald’s?
The new Pokémon Happy Meals will be available at participating McDonald’s restaurants across the United States beginning Nov. 10.
The promotion is scheduled to run for a limited time, but availability will depend on supplies at individual locations. Fans hoping to collect the toys and cards may want to check with their local restaurants before visiting.
With three themed boxes, 15 miniature toys and a collection of Pokémon trading cards, the collaboration combines the familiar Happy Meal experience with collectibles celebrating one of the world’s most recognizable entertainment franchises.
For Pokémon fans, the countdown to the latest McDonald’s collaboration is officially on.
