One Direction was one of the biggest boy bands in music history and was loved by fans worldwide. The group, consisting of members Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik, was formed in 2010 for the reality TV competition “The X Factor.” After Malik decided to leave in March 2015 and pursue a solo career, the band continued with the remaining four members until their indefinite hiatus in January 2016.
Some fans were more passionate than others, and a woman named Isabella Simpson is sharing how she kept a bottle of Our Moment by One Direction unopened until she could use it on her wedding day, 13 years later.
Keeping the Perfume for 13 Years

Simpson got married on October 9, and she shared her story in an interview with People, published on October 21.
Simpson received the perfume as a Christmas present in 2013. At the time, she was just 12 years old. She told the publication, “I knew it would be what I wore for our wedding. I saved it because honestly the fragrance was really special to the younger version of me. I mean, it was made by One Direction!”
The fruity floral fragrance was meaningful, but did it still smell good? Simpson’s father, Ron LaScala, who initially gave his daughter the present along with her stepmother, Amanda LaScala, told People that it “smelled great” and that he and his daughter believe the smell improved with age.
One Direction Fans Share Incredible Story
Ron shared how proud he was of his daughter for sticking to something she had set out to do when she was just 12. “She’s stuck true to herself, which I really think is probably the best part of this whole story,” he said. “Bella, as a 12-year-old girl, made a promise to herself, and she has driven herself through life. She’s headstrong and independent, and smart and beautiful, and all of those things, but most importantly, she’s true to herself.”
Ron also shared his daughter’s story on Instagram and gave a glimpse of herself on her wedding day. “Many eons ago, I was a 12-year-old girl, and I asked for [Our] Moment by One Direction perfume … But everyone was like, ‘You’re 12. Do you really want a One Direction perfume for Christmas as, like, your big Christmas gift?’ And I said, ‘Yes. Why might you ask? Because I’m going to use this fragrance at my wedding,’” Simpson said in the video. “So here I am today, getting married, and I will be wearing [Our] Moment by One Direction.”
In the caption, Ron shared his thoughts again. “That bottle stayed together longer than the band did,” he wrote. “Her stepmother and I bought it for her all those years ago. Who would’ve thought that gift would someday be part of her wedding day? Pretty cool that something so small could carry so much meaning.”
One Direction fans were so impressed with Simpson’s decision to keep the perfume for her wedding that they flooded the comment section. Comments included, “I saw the bottle shape, and I knew immediately,” and “the directioner in us will never die.”
