With just five days until the midterm elections, President Donald Trump has canceled his upcoming appearances on the campaign trail.

Trump, 80, has been all over the country in recent weeks, campaigning for Republican candidates as the election nears. However, on Thursday, October 29, it was announced that his upcoming rallies in Iowa and Kansas have been canceled.

According to multiple reports, Trump has opted for telerallies in an effort to reach more votes.

Canceled Rallies

Trump traveled to South Carolina on Thursday, in a show of support for Darline Graham — the sister of late Senator Lindsey Graham, who died in July. Despite her lack of political experience, Darline was appointed to fill the vacancy created by her brother’s death.

Republicans have held control of all three branches of government since Trump took office for the second time in January 2025. However, the GOP stands to lose both the House and the Senate as tight races in Texas, Kansas, Ohio, Iowa, Mississippi and Alaska threaten their narrow margin.

“We’re going to have a strong Tuesday night,” Trump said on Thursday before the Republican National Committee announced the cancellation of his upcoming rally stops.

When asked by a reporter whether the cancellations were due to the president’s health, Trump lashed out.

“Oh, you’re sick to ask that question,” a visibly sweating Trump said. “You are a sick guy.”

He added, “Look at this dope. Look at this guy, he’s way out of shape. Look at how badly—he comes to me, ‘Sir, you’re not gonna go to Kansas.’ I’m not going to Kansas because he’s doing very well. I’m gonna do a telerally.”

The former “Apprentice” host added that his campaign rally in Florida scheduled for Friday will carry-on as scheduled.

“I don’t feel I have to go to Kansas,” he added. “I feel perfect. You are disgusting. Put yourself in shape. You look like hell!”

Bernie Sanders Reacts

Senator Bernie Sanders from Vermont reacted to the news of Trump’s canceled rallies during an appearance on CNN Thursday evening.

“I think he is getting nervous that I and other progressives around the country are rallying the American people to stand up to his contempt for the Constitution and for policies that benefit the very, very rich,” Sanders told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins. “I think he’s getting nervous.”
