Stella Parton is taking a stance! Unlike her famous sister, Dolly Parton—who famously stayed out of politics—Stella is making sure her opinion is heard ahead of the upcoming midterm election.
Stella took to social media to encourage her fans and followers to vote as polls opened across the country.
Stella Parton Voices Political Opinion

“As we move closer to the midterms, I can’t help but wonder how many Americans realize how much we’ve been lied to?” Stella voiced via Facebook on Monday, October 19. “We are now in two wars, mainly because of Netanyahu’s blackmail of Donald Trump. The pedophile ring they’ve all been involved in and are now avoiding could take all of us down.”
She continued, “Billionaires and fools have played the perverse games that may very well destroy our country. Russia is a threat and Trump is continually being forced to do whatever Putin says. Does that bother anyone else? Trump is being blackmailed and he’s not alone in this web of lies and corruption.”
Stella continued by questioning how “the average American” can be blind to the dangers.
“I’m not here to judge but to point out in a language everyday Americans can understand. These people have to be stopped and our first line of defense is at the ballot box,” she wrote. “How much are you willing to sacrifice for this nation and how much are you going to turn a blind eye to? Our future and that of our children and grandchildren are depending on us to open our eyes.”
The following day, Stella posted again pleading with her followers to vote blue.
“Just ask yourself; ‘what would Jesus do?'” she wrote.
Dolly’s Stance
While Stella has been a vocal opponent to President Donald Trump, her late sister Dolly Parton kept her political opinions private throughout her decades-long career.
However, following her death in August, Dolly’s sister was asked to reveal the “I Will Always Love You” artist’s stance. During an extensive interview with CBS Mornings‘ Gayle King, Stella refused to give away her sister’s long held secret.
“She had them!” Stella told King of her sister’s political opinions. When asked to reveal them, Stella responded, “I’m not telling!”
King pressed again, questioning whether Dolly agreed with Stella’s vocal opinions.
“I will not talk about that. You think you’re so clever, don’t you Gayle?” she laughed.
While many Dolly fans believe she revealed her political opinions through her philanthropy and her actions, Stella claimed her sister kept her opinions to herself because she was a “good businesswoman.”
“She would never have offended anybody,” Stella said. “She never would have done that. She was smarter than me! You know, I tell everything! I like ’em but you know what think about it… Not her!”
The “9 to 5” artist died at the age of 80 on August 25. It was later revealed that she suffered a brief battle with cancer before her passing. Dolly was laid to rest in a small, private service attended by immediate family.
