McDonald’s will bring back its popular McRib sandwich on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, but customers won’t find it at every restaurant.
The fast-food chain told TODAY.com that the McRib will return for a limited time in select U.S. markets, not nationwide.
Participating locations will include restaurants in Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Dallas, among other cities.
The McRib features seasoned boneless pork covered in the chain’s signature tangy barbecue sauce, topped with slivered onions and sliced pickles on a toasted bun.
Customers looking to buy the sandwich should check whether their local McDonald’s is participating in this year’s promotion.
Where Can You Buy the McDonald’s McRib in 2026?
McDonald’s confirmed that the McRib will return to select restaurants beginning October 27, according to People.
The company identified several major cities where the sandwich will be available, including:
- Los Angeles, California
- Chicago, Illinois
- Miami, Florida
- Atlanta, Georgia
- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
- Dallas, Texas
Additional markets may also offer the sandwich, but availability will vary by restaurant.
Customers can use the McDonald’s app to check participating locations and determine whether the McRib appears on their local restaurant’s menu.
Another option is the fan-created McRib Locator website, which tracks reported sightings of the sandwich at McDonald’s restaurants across the United States.
The website, McRibLocator.com, allows customers to search for locations where other users have reported finding the seasonal menu item.
McDonald’s has not announced a specific nationwide end date for the 2026 promotion.
McRib Returns After Multiple McDonald’s Farewell Announcements
The McRib has repeatedly returned to McDonald’s menus despite previous announcements suggesting the sandwich would be discontinued.
In 2020, McDonald’s brought the sandwich back nationwide for the first time in eight years.
Two years later, the company promoted its return as a “Farewell Tour,” suggesting customers might get one last chance to buy it.
However, the sandwich returned to select locations in 2023 before making nationwide appearances in 2024 and 2025.
This year’s rollout marks another comeback, although the company has returned to a regional approach.
The McRib has also attracted several celebrity fans over the years.
“Today” weatherman Al Roker previously told Allrecipes that the McRib is his preferred McDonald’s order when the sandwich is available.
Roker acknowledged that some people consider the sandwich an “abomination,” but he remains a fan.
He has also shared a homemade copycat McRib recipe through TODAY for people interested in recreating the sandwich.
