Game 5 of the 2026 World Series will always be remembered as the night the Milwaukee Brewers won the championship for the first time in the team’s 57-year history.
But before the Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays took the field on October 28, 20-year-old Julie Falcon had a memorable performance of her own, wowing MLB fans as she sang the national anthem. After famous artists like Carly Pearce and Ne-Yo performed the anthem on other nights, Falcon admitted she was nervous, but it sure wasn’t obvious as she belted out a powerful rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Who is Anthem Singer Jessica Falcon?
Falcon, who is a student at Berklee College of Music in Boston, was introduced at the World Series as a “pop rock artist and viral sensation.” In a Berklee profile of her on Instagram, she said she’s from Long Island, New York, “but mostly grew up in Germany.”
“As a singer and producer, I thrive on collaboration and love giving space for creative ideas to flourish in projects,” she continued. “Beyond producing, I enjoy expressing myself through street music and songwriting. I’m excited about my journey into music production and engineering (MP&E) on the boston campus. I’m passionate about trying new things, staying active and meeting new people. Don’t hesitate to say hi if you spot me on campus: i’d love to connect with you all!”
So how did she wind up with such a high-profile gig at the World Series? In an Instagram video posted on May 3, she said, “I spent the whole summer in Boston and busking outside of Fenway Park. And eventually, I got invited to play at the bars outside of Fenway Park. And I thought to myself, ‘How do I get from outside onto the Jumbotron inside Fenway Park?’ So I started doing it every day and eventually, I got the call back that I get to sing the national anthem at for Fenway Park on Marathon Monday.”
After seeing her sing, other venues and teams became interested in having Falcon sing at their stadiums. Her TikTok page has millions of views on her anthem performances in recent months: at a Dodgers game and a Chicago Cubs game in August, the September 11th Savannah Bananas game, a September Titans game, and the October 12 San Francisco 49ers game.
In early September, TMZ’s TV show aired clips from her performances and the entire newsroom, including editor and owner Harvey Levin, were stunned by her powerful voice.
The MLB Called Julie Falcon’s Anthem ‘Incredible’
Falcon blew away the crowd at the World Series, and even the MLB called her anthem “incredible” on social media. Fans flocked to social media to learn more about who she was and compliment the job she did.
One wrote on Instagram, “When Francis Scott Key wrote this song he had Julie Falcon in mind!”
“Literally was shook by how good she was,” another wrote, while someone else commented, “Yesssssaaaa! That’s how you do it 👏 I’m so happy for you🫶🏼🥰 next up the Super Bowl🏈”
Falcon is due to graduate from Berklee in 2028. She released her first single, “Gasoline Heart,” in March (as heard in the video above).
