A first-of-its-kind, 24-hour online radio station called DMFRadio launched on October 19, 2026, designed to exclusively highlight artists with disabilities and music that inspires them.
The free platform was created by Daniel’s Music Foundation (DMF), which has spent the last 20 years providing thouands of in-person and online music education opportunities to people living with disabilities across the U.S. According to the DMFRadio website, its aim is to be a destination for music lovers to find “thoughtfully curated music and stories from artists who have publicly self-identified as having a disability during their careers.”
DMFRadio Aims to Help Artists With Disabilities Be Seen & Heard Within the Highly Competitive Music Industry
DMFRadio was purposefully launched during National Disability Employment Awareness Month, with a goal of spotlighting creatives who are hoping to increase their visibility in the music industry, where it’s extremely tough to break through the noise — quite literally.
In 2025, Luminate‘s year-end report on the state of the music industry estimated that 106,000 new music tracks were introduced on digital streaming services every single day of the year. That means the competition to be heard is fierce, DMFRadio hopes to help artists with disabilities get seen and heard.
In a statement, DMFRadio Lead Vance Padmore said, “We want someone to hear an artist for the first time, connect with their music, learn the story behind it, and keep coming back for more. These artists deserve to be recognized for their craft.”
DMF Co-Founder and Managing Director Ken Trush said in a press release, “DMFRadio is about discovery, giving listeners a dedicated platform to explore the positive, thought-provoking songs and stories of artists with disabilities, in the hope of encouraging listeners to reflect on differences.”
His son, Daniel Trush, suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm when was 12 and spent 30 days in a coma. Already a big music fan who played guitar and trumpet before his medical crisis, music turned into a form of therapy for Daniel, from the songs his family played for him by his bedside to a keyboard that helped him rebuild his motor skills.
Daniel now serves as co-founder and president of the foundation named in his honor, and says music still means “everything” to him.
DMFRadio Features New Artists & Inspiring Songs From Major Stars

The DMFRadio playlist is a blend of tracks from new and emerging artists and inspiring songs from some of the biggest names in music. A sampling of tracks played on its launch day included “I Will Survive” by Demi Lovato and “Born This Way” by Lady Gaga, along with “Disabled” by Austin Halls.
Artists hoping to have their music highlighted can submit clean versions of their songs via a form on the DMFRadio web site. Organizers say they’re “looking for songs that offer a fresh perspective, tell a meaningful story, or make listeners stop and feel something.”
DMFRadio is available to listen to 24/7 at DMFRadio.org and via apps for Apple for Android.
